Cards can be differentiated in credit and debit cards. In most cases they are issued by banks (Issuers) in cooperation with card organizations (schemes) such as Mastercard, VISA, Diners, or American Express. Based on those schemes, payment acceptance is possible almost worldwide online and offline.
The main difference between debit and credit cards is that consumer can use debit cards only up to the amount that is already available in their bank account, whereas consumer can use a credit card up to the amount of credit as agreed previously in their agreement.
