Unscheduled payments
Learn what unscheduled payments are and how they work.
In some cases, you as a merchant can trigger a transaction in the background without the customer in session. You must use a valid customer initiated transaction as a reference where the customer has explicitly agreed to use these stored credentials for unscheduled payments.
Some of the examples for storing credentials are:
- additional bookings of services or content which exceed the initial anticipated amount
- automatic balance loading
- micropayments, where one wants to gather small amounts and only capture one larger amount
- delayed fulfillments which exceed the validity of an authorization
