Order cancellation
Learn what is order cancellation and how it works.
If an order is cancelled before money is transferred from the customer to the merchant, we call it order cancellation or reversal. Some of the reasons for canceling an order include:
- goods cannot be delivered
- customer cancels the order before the goods are shipped or the service is delivered
Order cancellation is always triggered by the merchant.

In the Unzer API order cancellation can be done using the cancel transaction on the initial payment - the authorize or charge transaction depending on the payment flow (one-step or two-step).
