One-off payment

Learn what is one-off payment and how it works.

The customer is in session and enters their payment credentials to trigger a payment immediately. The entered payment credentials are not stored for any subsequent payments.

Some of the examples of one-off payment are:

  • delivery of services
  • delivery of goods
  • delivery of content

When you process this type of use case with a one-step approach, you initiate it by a charge call at the time of order placement. If you are using a [two-step](/use-cases/payment-in-nutshell/#one-step-authorization-and-charge-in-one-request approach, you first make an authorize call and later trigger the charge - usually when you fulfill the order. For more information, see the Order Fulfillment section.
