Learn about various response codes and categories for card authorization reattempts.
Visa and Mastercard introduced new rules about handling reattempts for declined transactions. Following these rules will help you to avoid additional fees and to reduce the number of unsuccessful reattempts. The appropriate rules apply for the error codes summarized in the following two categories:
