Unzer Direct Bank Transfer is a payment method based on the payment initiation service. It is based on open banking technology and enables the customer to securely log into their bank account using their standard credentials and method to initiate a direct payment. The payment is authorized through their bank’s default approval method like one-time password (OTP), fingerprint, or facial recognition.

Payment workflow

The following diagram explains the workflow for Unzer Direct Bank Transfer payments.

Step 1: Create an openbanking-pis payment type resource.

A resource ID is generated in the response and is used in the workflow to complete the payment.

Step 2: Make a charge transaction with the openbanking-pis resource that you created.

Step 3: Forward the customer to the redirectUrl that is displayed in the charge response.

Step 4: Once the customer makes the payment on their bank portal, redirect the customer to the returnURL specified in the initial charge call.

Step 5: After the transaction, display the result to the customer in the front end of the online shop.
