Registered customer on a recognized device

Learn more about the Click to Pay checkout flow for a registered customer on a recognized device.

Overview

Customers who have previously completed transactions and enrolled for Click to Pay on a recognized device, do not need to enter their card details next time. They can also skip the OTP verification step, allowing for a faster and secure checkout experience.

Checkout workflow

1. The customer proceeds to the checkout to initiate the payment process.
   
   
   
   
2. The customer enters their email and optionally phone number and selects Continue.
   

• When they enter their email, the network provider lookup takes place. If the customer is already enrolled for Click to Pay, the registered-user flow begins. This is a device on which they have previously completed a transaction, the system automatically identifies the device as recognized (previously selected Remember me in this browser).
• In our example, this check is done on Mastercard site. The cards that are associated with this email and phone number are displayed.

3. The customer selects the associated card and then Continue.
   
   
   
   The customer reviews and confirms their saved payment card details.
4. The OTP steps are skipped because the customer already previously selected to skip this for next checkouts.
5. The customer is now redirected to complete the 3DS authentication flow.
   
   
   
   
6. They complete the authentication and finally are redirected to the merchant shop.

This completes the checkout flow for the customer.
