Compliance
Learn more about PCI compliance and PSD2 regulations.
Overview
Compliance refers to certain regulatory requirements that must be met by businesses wanting to accept electronic payments. For online payments, one set of requirements comes from the Payment Card Industry organization and is commonly known as PCI compliance and the other one is the European Union regulation known as Second Payment Services Directive (PSD2). Both sets of requirements aim to establish security standards for online payments thus reducing fraud.
PCI compliance requirements apply to all merchants that want to accept card payments. PSD2 regulations effectively apply to all merchants that process card transactions within European Economic Area.
